L2-45/18 “116” is now confirmed as the faded camo aircraft next to N23SA, but it is not the aircraft said to be this in photos from Basler’s yard in 200-2003. L2-45/18 didn’t arrive until 2004 and photos on Steve Ozel’s Flickr site of it at Lopburi in 2003 confirm it to be the one here. The other bare metal aircraft said to be L2-51/19 “882” certainly isn’t that aircraft as it was damaged and had a hole above the leading edge of the wing on the left side, which isn’t present on this aircraft which has now been moved to Basler’s main storage area. It is confirmed from photos to be N4039S c/n 16226 which arrived at Baslers from Davis Montham sometime before July 96, when it was marked “CB334”. You can see several photos of both on my posts on the DC3 appreciation society Facebook page,
Posted on 28 November 2023 byI dont think either of the two Thai AF identities are correct. They are certainly not the same aircraft as ones said to be identified with these serial numbers when stored by the Basler hangars in 2003. N23SA, N115NA and N3433E are correct.
Posted on 17 November 2023 byThe former Thai AF ones as reported, unfortunately no photo evidence of either.
Posted on 14 October 2022 by AdminAs of 28/7/22, looking at the Google image - left to right: N115NA - now in Basler's main storage compound N3433E - olive drab now patchy, revealing some of Delta Air Transport's original scheme. Web photo evidence. Next two - L2-45/18/116 & L2-51/19/882? Could not find any evidence of these. N23SA - Web photo evidence.
Posted on 31 August 2022 by TPN23SA and N115NA confirmed through pictures. The other two not, but both are quite possible. Some confirmation perhaps still needed...
Posted on 30 April 2020 by AdminI believe the other 4 frames to be N23SA c/n 4903, N115NA c/n 11625, N3433E c/n 19458 and 882 c/n 34141/16885.
