R-204 797 BN-2A-21 Angola Air Force i/a Aug 18 = change serial into: 2454 = Ignore earlier message regarding 2454
Posted on 3 September 2018 by Erwin Alexander... BN-2A Romania Civil Instructional airframe = 2454 c/n 797 Angola Air Force. TO BE CONFIRMED! I received this following information: "The most likely source of the fuselage is that it is from an ex-Angolan Govt aircraft, c/n 797 (ex G-BDTI, YR-BPD) which was operated by Angolan Government as 2454. It was shipped to Romania in the 1980s for rebuild after being damaged when force landing under fire in Angola on an unknown date. It apparently only had under 150 hours when damaged so a good case for a rebuild by Romaero. The fuselage was noted at Baneasa in 4.91 in a very similar colour scheme to the fuselage pictured here. If there are further clues on the fuselage in the museum that link to this new information, then a more accurate assumption could be made."
