I also do not agree with the alternative for the F-86. The MM55-4858, with tail from MM55-4869 used to be preserved at Castel Voturno (#14070). A good picture of that one is here: https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1006091. It clearly show 54869 in the tail and if you zoom in, it shows NC.98 on the fuselage (c/n for MM55-4858). This one however, has no serial in the tail and shows NC.109 on the fuselage. So this should then be the MM55-4869 with a different tail.
Posted on 28 December 2024 by AdminThe problem I have with MM6311 is that that airframe was always reported in Frecce c/s in Torino. In 2017 it was removed for refurbishment by GAVS (as far as I know) and since 2020 it is back on its place (#5055). GAVS gives that one as MM6311 and it could be. MM6311 has flown with Frecce and the plane preserved there is a G.91R (not a real PAN). Hardly conclusive evidence, but with all the tail and nose swaps of the Ginas it is hard to be certain of any identity. For now I will keep the MM6311 in Torino and not here.
Posted on 28 December 2024 by AdminI think MM6377/MM6397 is (MM6311)/MM6377/2-62, Fiat G.91R/1B (fuselage). Also think that MM55-4869 is (MM55-4858), North American F-86K Sabre. There is disagreement with a lot of usual sources such as Euro Demobbed & Scramble. MAR November 2020 has Calcinato (BS) – (9.20) Several aircraft can be found at the Aviosuperficie Casa Bianca. (MM6311)/2-62 Fiat G.91R/1A has 6410 hand-painted in several places (tail from MM6377 c/n 181, serial has been over-painted and reads MM6387), (MM6415)/2-45 Fiat G.91R tail of MM6390, marked as such 1504 Mikoyan MiG-21R ex Romania, Russian c/s, (MM55-4858) NA F-86K tail of c/n 109 (MM55-4869), marked as such MM53790 NA T-6H-4M rear fuselage

Posted on 30 August 2021 by CBRG-91R/1B MM6397 is really MM6410 (2-62) with tail from MM6377 c/n 181 (photo proof)
Posted on 2 August 2021 by panadero@G-91R/1B MM6397 has tail of MM6377 c/n 181.
Posted on 15 July 2020 by panadero@G-91R/1B MM6390 is really MM6415 (2-45) with visible different tail belonging to MM6390.
Posted on 15 July 2020 by panadero@Forward fuselage of MiG21R 2043 not seen, removed?
Posted on 15 July 2020 by panadero@That is indeed one question also to be answered. Romanian sources I have for the MiG-21Rs give conflicting values (94R2043, 94R02043 and 94R020043). Not sure what really is correct.
